Center for Clinical Pharmacology

Cyrielle Billon, PhD, Assistant Professor

Cyrielle HeadshotCyrielle Billon, PhD, holds a primary appointment at the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy as a part of Center for Clinical Pharmacology. Billon received her undergraduate and post-graduate education in Genetic and Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Lyon, France. She went on to receive a PhD in Integrative Molecular and Cellular Biology and under Prof. Jacques Samarut from the Ecole Normale Superieur of Lyon, Lyon, France. Prior to joining UHSP, Dr. Billon was a Postdoctoral Research fellow at Saint Louis University School of Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Burris.

Dr. Billon worked on characterized the role of synthetic ligands for nuclear receptors developed in the lab on cardiovascular, metabolic and inflammatory disorders. Dr. Billon current research interests focus on the role of Rev-Erbs and RORs in inflammatory diseases and inflammasomes regulation. Another part of her research is to identify the functions of the orphan nuclear ERRs in muscles pathophysiology using novel synthetic ligands developed by the lab.
